Order reigns in the Kingdom of Cards. Until the day the King of Diamonds catches his wife, the Queen of Spades, kissing the Jack of Hearts. Enraged, he executes the Jack on the spot. The Joker, a lowly servant rejected by the king, witnesses the scene.
